3 saltos!

Después de más de un mes con mucho frío, llovíendo a tope y en definitiva con muy mal tiempo... parece que finalmente el sol ha salido en Pucón para quedarse! Estamos disfrutando de unos dias fantásticos con mucho kayak, asados, noches locas en el Mamma's, buenos amigos y una temperatura más que agradable! Pura vida!

After 1 month raining full time, cold weather and shitty weather.... seems like sun appeared here In Pucón for stay all the summer!!! We are enjoying a great days of kayaking, asados, crazy nights In the mamma's, good friends and a really nice weather! Pura vida!!


Los rios de la zona han estado muy altos durante mucho tiempo, ahora empiezan a bajar y nuevos descensos son posibles con menos agua. Ayer corrímos la sección de arriba de 3 saltos, esta no tiene más de 3 rapidos, con un porteo, un put in y un take-out muy difíciles y el pateo hasta arriba es duro, aún así esos bonitos slides son una buena recompensa para todo este esfuerzo!

All the rivers around here where really high during a lot of time, right now they're starting to drop, and many other descents are possibles with lower water. We ran the upper section of the 3 saltos yesterday. The hike-up Is really hard but once you're on the river It's all fun with a reall

Let's go south!!

Vamos al sur!

Hace un par de dias volvímos de un mini viaje hacía el sur. Salimos de Pucón el jueves por la tarde con Evan, Candace, Batlle'pro, Laura y Parra. El viaje hasta Futrono era largo, Gato ayudó a que este fuera más entretenido! Pasamos la noche en un pequeño camping muy cerca del rio, el sitio es precioso y tiene termas, lo que hace aún más atractivo el lúgar!

Some days ago we cameback of our mini-trip to the south. We left Pucón on thursday afternoon with Evan, Candace and all the perros vagos. Futrono Is far, far away, Gato helped us to make the travel shorter and a lot more funny! We spent the night In a little camping very close to the river, the landscape is really beautiful and got termas! wich make the place even better!

Nos levantamos temprano, comímos algo y andamos un buen rato hasta la entrada del rio. El Florin es un rio increíble, hartos drops, slides y uno de los pasos más cañeros que he vistó hasta ahora en Chile.

We woke up early in the morning, we ate something and walked for a while until get the put-in. Florin is an incredible river, with a lot of nice drops, slides and one of the craziest and scary rapid I've seen In chile.

he Florin is a seldom run, low volume creek in Lago Ranco region known for its stout falls. It is reached by driving up the Florin from town of Futrono. Some slightly ghetto hot springs add to the attraction. Fotos best describe the run..

Definitivamente esto no fué lo peor, volviendo hacía Pucón la dirección del auto se jodio y gran parte de la vuelta a casa la hicímos con un volante qué no giraba lo suficiente quando necesitabas! Miedo!!! Afortunadamente llegamos sanos y salvos y el auto está reparado!

Definetly that was not the worst part, In our way back to Pucón we broke the direction of our car, anyway we hept going until Pucón, so scary!

Rio Puesco

A 67 Km de Pucón tenemos la entrada al rio Puesco el pendiente, los rapidos continuados y el agua cristalina del rio lo convierte sin duda en uno de los mejores creeks de la zona. !

At a distance of only 67 KM from Pucon is the put-in for one of Chile’s premier creek runs. It's steep, continuous and the crystal clear water and extreme gradient make for an unforgettable day run.

Fuímos a correrlo con Rush y Evan. El nível de agua estaba medio alto y nos lo pasamos como enanos bajando el alto y bajo Puesco, buenas líneas y grandes boofs!

We went to run It with the gringos flacos Rush and Evan. The water level was pretty high so we had a really good time going down the river, with great lines and big boofs!

Middle Palguin Show!

El domingo por la mañana después de otra de esas noches locas en el Mamma's nos pareció el dia perfecto para ír a correr algo fuerte! Así que junto con los Demshitz (Evan, LJ, Todd) y las Ratas (Papa Zorro y Batlle'pro) nos dirígimos al Middle Palguin, la cascada más alta y perfecta de la zona. La entrada es probablemente la parte más difícil, unos metros más ariba de la cascada tienes un salto de unos 3 m. con un hoyo con mucha retorna, por lo tanto tiens que hacer un seal lunch despúes de este. Si todo va bién tienes una caída libre de unos 23 m. las sensaciones de esta son increíbles, la recepción es suave y tienes una piscina enorme para recuperar el kayak en caso de tener un nathalie, una vez la has corrído no puedes esperar para ír a correrla otra vez! yaaaay!

After another crazy night in the Mamma's we wanted to run something good on sunday morning. So me, Demshitz (evan, todd, LJ) and the Ratas (Zorro and Batlle'pro) headed to Middle Palguin, one of the highest and most perfect waterfalls around here. It was high and the drop looked very intense and scary. The entry Is probably the most difficult part, you have a 3 meters drop unrrunable with this water level so you have to do a 15 footer seal launch into the boily cauldron..., and then suave a stroke off a seeming lip with around 70 feet to fall. The landing is really soft and If all goes well you have a great feeling after do that BEAST! The pool that you have after the waterfall Is great for get your stuff If you swam. Once you run It 1 time you can't wait to do it again! So sick!

Ojos de Caburgua

Ojos de Caburgua es uno de los saltos más famosos aquí en Pucón, a poco más de 10 km. Es un muy buen sitio para practicar la técnica en los saltos, y correr una vez y otra el salto hasta quedar agotado! Así que junto con las ratas de Pucón (Lu, Gringo y Zorro) nos dirígimos a este bonito lúgar a por un poco de acción.

Ojos de Caburgua Is one of the most famous Park-Hucks here In Pucón, 10 km from Pucón. It's a great place to improve yours drop skills and have fun running this beautiful double waterfall again and again until get exhausted. We went there with the Pucón rats (Lu, Zorro and Gringo).

Como podeís ver corrimos la cascada muchísimas veces. En mi última ronda decidí probar algo nuevo y hacer un freewheel (una punta de cartwheel mientras bajas la cascada) en el salto de la izquierda (una mala idea en realidad) hay troncos, y un árbol abajo... El freewheel salió perfecto y lo planché plano, desafortunadamente me explotó el faldón, después de intentar salir de debajo del salto y de un eddy muy feo con mi kayak lleno de agua, decidí salir del kayak y llegar a la orilla nadando. Era muy difícil, y después de un tiempo intentandolo estaba totalmente agotado, cada vez me hundía más y más, y me era más difícil aguantar en la superfície, estaba tragando mucha agua... De repente me fuí para abajo muy abajo, nadaba hacía arriba para alcanzar la superfície pero por más que lo intentaba me era imposible me estuve bajo del agua más de 15 seg. lo que para mí me pareció una eternidad! De repente toqué algo duro con mi mano, era un kayak me agarré a el y dejé que me llevará a la orilla, no tenia fuerzas para nada... Pasaron un par de minutos hasta que empezé a tener otra vez un color de piel normal o hasta que pudé hablar algo.. Afortunadamente no pasó nada grave y solo fué un gran susto, estas cosas pasan a menudo y la verdad es que después de años sin nadar una nadada así te pone en tu sitío!

As you can see, we ran the waterfall a lot of times. In my las run I decided to try a freewheel on the biggest drop (actually not a good idea). My line was good and I landed the trick flat, unfortunatly my sprydeck exploit, and after try to escape with my kayak full of water from the boil/eddy under the drop I decided to get out finally of my kayak and get the shore swimming by myself. That was really hard! And after a minute there trying to get out , drinking too much water, I started to feel really tired and went down the water, and even deeper every time. I stayed down for 15 seconds trying to get the surface wich was impossible! Suddenly, I touched something, lucky for me It was a kayak!! I took It, and thanks to him I was able to get out of this nasty place! Thanks Parra! Took me some minutes to recover my normal colour and can say something... It was a really bad experience, maybe the worst I've ever had in a kayak, but shit happens sometimes, and a good swimming after a lot of years without put you in your place!

Ayer por la mañana llegarón nuestros amigos de España Parra y Laura a Pucón, después de dejar todo en la casa y reunírnos con el team de las minas nos dirijímos al rio Maichín, a unos 32 km de Pucón, un bonito rio de clase III , con rapidos muy entretenidos y un cañon impresionante! Todos los pasos se podían mirar sin bajar del kayak. 1km después del Put-In el rio se estrecha y entras en un precioso cañon de roca basáltica del qual es imposible salir.

Yesterday morning arrived our friends from spain Parra and Laura in Pucón, after leave everything In the house we met with the girls team and went to the river Maichín to have some easy and beautiful paddling. It's 32 km away from Pucón, The cold, clear river flows through a bucolic countryside of small farms, well-grazed hillsides and araucaria trees standing sentinel over the valley floor. It's a really beautiful class III with one "portage" that can be walked easily on the left side. Aproximately 1 km below the put-in, the river flows through a 1.5 km long-columnar basalt gorge.

Back in the Trancura River!

Finalmente la lluvía y el frio nos está dando un pequeño respiro, el sol ha salido por fín aquí en Pucón y parece que el verano está a pocas semanas de empezar! Ayer fuímos a remar el Alto Trancura con las rats!! Gringo, Zorro y Batlle'pro. El nível de agua estába bastante bién! La pequeña ola en el Put-In estava realmente bién, puta que andábamos con creekboats. El Feo, Mariman y la última sonrisa POTENCIADOS!

Finally the rain and cold days stopped!! It's sunny and hot here In pucón, and It seems like summer will be here in a few weeks!! yaaay!! We went to the upper Trancura yesterday with the rats! Gringo, Zorro and Batlle'pro. The water level was good! The little wave In the put-in was so sick, we was using creekboats, fuck it. El feo, Mariman and the last sunrise where sick!

Hoy hemos decidído volver al Trancura, con los botes de freestyle y provar la pequeña olita. Estuvo muy bién, era un poco difícil entrar en la ola sin cuerda pero disfrutamos de un dia tomando el sol y freestyleando un poco en esta divertida ola.

Today we've decided to go back to Trancura, with our playboats and try the little wave. It was great, It was kinda hard to get In the wave without rope but we enjoyed a hot and sunny day In a funny little wave!
